Join our patient-centered healthcare team as a Registered Nurse and play a critical role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced procedural environment. The RN assists in the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases of surgery and other procedures, working closely with physicians and the rest of the care team to ensure the safety and comfort of patients undergoing advanced outpatient procedures.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provide intra-operative care, including moderate sedation, if experienced or through cross-training.
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients throughout the surgical process, including preoperative assessment, intraoperative assistance, and postoperative recovery.
  • Prepare patients for surgery and procedures by reviewing medical histories, administering medications, and explaining procedures to ensure patients are informed and comfortable.
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs and overall condition during surgery/procedure and recovery, identifying and addressing any changes in status.
  • Ensure that all equipment, instruments, and the surgical environment are sterile and safe, following strict infection control protocols.
  • Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and post-anesthesia care as needed, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Educate patients and their families on post-procedure care instructions, including wound care, pain management, and follow-up appointments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system, including patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Follow policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Required Skills/Abilities

Education and Experience

  • Active nursing license in the state of Florida.
  • Experience in an endovascular setting preferred.
  • Experience in a cath lab preferred.
  • Experience in a cardiology setting preferred.
  • BLS and ACLS certification required.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Standing for long periods, assisting with patient transfers, and handling equipment.
  • Potential exposure to radiation, communicable diseases, and bodily fluids.
