Medical Assistants play a vital role in supporting our healthcare providers by performing both administrative and clinical duties to ensure smooth daily operations. You’ll work closely with physicians, nurses, Registered Vascular Technicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care across our state-of-the-art outpatient facilities.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist medical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients
  • Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients
  • Room patients by taking vitals and recording information
  • Interview patients, measure vital signs, and update medical history
  • Scribe and enter orders for providers while in the room with patients
  • Assist in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician
  • Educate and advise patients on medical issues within established parameters
  • Perform suture and staple removal and wound care
  • Take compression stocking measurements
  • Prep charts and obtain medical records for upcoming patient visits
  • Maintain stocks of medical supplies in exam rooms
  • Perform instrument cleaning and autoclave sterilization
  • Practice safety, environmental, and infection control methods
  • Assist the supervisor as unusual problems arise

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of patient evaluation and triage procedures
  • Experience performing standard clinical procedures per established protocols
  • Experience maintaining quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
  • Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the vascular field
  • Ability to educate patients and/or families on the nature of disease and proper care
  • Skill in listening to and understanding oral and written communication
  • Ability to act effectively in emergency situations
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team across various roles
  • Ability to be flexible while bringing structure to a fast-growing environment

Education and Experience

  • 1–3 years of experience in a related clinical field
  • Medical Assistant certificate preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
